How it all began
During my early days in the tech industry, I realised dedicated work and caffeine go hand-in-hand – one feeds the other in a continuous cycle of productivity but there’s a problem… I never really liked coffee. I loved the productivity of coffee but was never a fan of the taste, the inconvenience of carrying it around, waiting for it to cool down and drinking it before it gets cold – talk about productivity at a price. And then there’s energy drinks, a convenient solution? – not exactly. Energy drinks are jam packed with much more than caffeine and look horribly unprofessional in a business environment. So, what did I want?
I wanted a convenient little boost of productivity on the go, I wanted something that I could easily have in the office, in the car, on the tube, on my way to the next meeting, something I can't spill and spend the next 10 minutes apologising to the head of marketing who was wearing a beautiful white coat (sorry about that). Something that would hit that spot right after lunch and bring me back to life – I want a small sweet caffeinated snack.
This got me thinking - this “idea”, “want”, “need” - call it whatever you want burned through my skull daily for years until one day I happened to say to Owen “I’ve got an idea you know” and this was the true beginning of SOURCE.
